Updates and Roslin Glen Project this Sunday – #5

A bit late in the day, but here is some information on tomorrows project and a social in March.

Project via Cameron & Nina:

” Walkways walkways, walkways. What are we going to do with them? I hear you ask. Well we at the Super Fun Happy Time Smiley Dirty Weekenders have the answers! We’ll fix them and chop down more of those pesky not-supposed-to-be-quite-there-trees. It’s going to be a metaphorical whale of a time. A shark in a teapot some might say, a giraffe at the theatre? So bring along your sturdy footwear, warm clothing and waterproofs (it is Scotland after all), rock up to ye olde tool cupboard at the pleasant Pleasance at 10am on the beautiful morning that will be Sunday and have a ticketyboo time!
Cheers, Nina and Cameron, your projects coordinators whose mental stability might be waning. P.S. if you didn’t get it from my delightful informative and coherent and not at all driven by lack of sleep message, we’re heading to Roslin Glen :)”

Social in March

Rachel and Rosie are trying to gauge interest on a ceramic painting social. The potential dates are the 13th or 20th March pre-pub (7ish)

Here is a link of pricing and to display the wide variety of things you can paint!

Updates on Upcoming Projects

There will be no project this Sunday, instead we will be climbing Arthur’s Seat before meeting at the Auld Hoose. Meeting point will be outside the Pollock Halls entrance at 1pm.

Next week is the University of Edinburgh’s ‘Innovative Learning Week’ and there is no better way to learn (in an innovative way) than to join us on our ILW project on Wednesday 19th!

A CRASH COURSE IN CONSERVATION!

A project ideal for beginners, we will be visiting Beeslack Wood, near Penicuik. For photos of the site, click here. As always, there will be free transport from the CSE and free home made food for lunch.

If you want to join us, the number of places is capped at a generous 40, so you should sign up at ilwcalendar.co.uk
You can join the Facebook event too by following this link.

We will meet at the Centre for Sport and Exercise at 10am, returning around 5:30pm. If you’ve not yet ventured out with us, this is your chance!

Vogrie Country Park this Sunday – Project #4

This Sunday we will be heading to Vogrie Country Park. Here is the message from the project organizers, Cameron & Nina:

“Trees, those pesky little blighters. Always popping up where they aren’t wanted, and not having the common decency to up root and fly away. This however creates a unique opportunity for us to spend a wonderful Sunday at Vogrie Country Park chopping them down! So as always bring along your sturdy footwear and waterproofs (we’ll bring the rest) to the pleasance tool cupboard at 10am this Sunday and join us in tree felling, with maybe a bit of burning and making habitat piles to boot!”

Usual meeting time at 10am at the Tool cupboard outside the CSE gym. Gethering at the pub afterwards from around 5.
