Land owned by Duddingston Conservation Group: the path to the orchard stocked with local apple varieties, and an area of their community allotment in winter, ready for spring planting. Photos by Freda O’Byrne.
Duddingston Conservation Society are in charge of a large area of land and bring people together from a wide range of ages, backgrounds and interests to grow food and interact with nature. They have a herb garden, many rare apple tree varieties, and a well-stocked vegetable garden. We will be getting more involved with this site, to learn skills from them and document their engagement with their land.
